Wellness Classes

Wellness Classes --- Lifeforce Fitness offers a variety of wellness classes, including Yoga, Cardio Fitness, and Total Body Conditioning. Pre-register at the Parks & Recreation Department Office, located in the Lower Level of City Hall, at 500 East Locust Street, Union, MO 63084.

All wellness classes are held in the department's aerobic room (unless otherwise noted), located in the Lower Level of City Hall, at 500 East Locust Street, Union, 63084. Participants should enter the side door located near the corner of Linden St. and E. Locust St.

Yoga in the Park
Don't miss this event! Come enjoy what nature has to offer in a peaceful shaded area. The postures allow you to gain flexibility, tone your muscles, and enjoy the flow of breath within your body. Develop a mind, body, and spirit connection and awaken yourself to a more relaxed and efficient lifestyle. No previous experience required.

MUST bring mat. If desired, bring some sort of cover for beneath the mat (sheet, blanket. or rug perhaps), water bottle, bug spray and sunscreen.

Cost is $10/class and are held from 9:30-10:30am within select city parks:

Total Body Conditioning
Open to the entire family, this class is designed to strengthen and stabilize your muscles, develop balance and range of motion utilizing your own body weight, body balls, gliding discs, step platforms, medicine balls, and exercise tubing which will be provided. This class is suitable for all levels of fitness.

Mondays, 6:30 - 7:15 PM; $50.00 per series (6 classes)
September 10 - October 15

Thursdays, 6:30 - 7:15 PM; $50.00 per series (6 classes)
September 13 - October 18

Morning Yoga
The postures allow you to gain flexibility, tone your muscles, and enjoy the flow of breath within your body.  Develop a mind, body, and spirit connection and awaken yourself to a more relaxed and efficient lifestyle. No previous experience required. Bring your own mat.

Mondays, 9:30 - 10:15 AM; $50.00 per series (6 classes)
September 10 - October 15


Intro to Yoga
This 2-week class is designed to teach the yogic breath (pranayama), focus or gaze (drishti) adn postures (asanas). Participants will be introduced to these basics to better enjoy the yoga practice and gain the most from the efforts. The warm-ups will also be itnroduced (sun salutations). This is great introductory class for anyone wishing to begin a yoga practice, or even deepen a current practice. No previous experience required.

Tuesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 PM; $15.00 per series (2 classes)
September 11 - September 18

Beginning Yoga
The postures allow you to gain flexibility, tone your muscles, and enjoy the flow of breath within your body. Develop a mind, body, and spirit connection and awaken your self to a more relaxed and efficient lifestyle. No previous experience required. Bring your own mat.

Tuesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 PM; $35.00 per series (4 classes)
September 25 - October 16

Yoga 
Learn how to apply yoga into your daily life. The postures allow you to gain flexibility, tone your muscles, and enjoy the flow of breath within your body. Develop a mind, body, and spirit connection and awaken yourself to a more relaxed and efficient lifestyle. This class will include the theory of Yoga pus exercises, breathing techniques. Previous experience strongly suggested. Bring your own mat.

Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 PM; $50.00 per series (6 classes)
September 12 - October 17

Morning Dancer-cize
Get ready for weekend-fun in this upbeat class. Combinations of cardio-dance movements with some muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility thrown in for good measure. All performed to motivating music of course! Come get your fun on. This class is suitable for all levels of fitness and no previous experience required
