Programs & Events


Lawn Chair Movie Nights -- Free family movies series, shown on the third Friday evening of the month at the City Park, in grass area west of the large pavilion. All friends of the community are invited. All you have to do is bring a lawn chair and a blanket. Coolers and food are welcome. All shows will start at approximately at dark. Movies are subject to change due to availability of the movie.

East Central College is the co-host for the events. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, ECC will provide pre-movie activities about an hour before each movie starts. Be sure to come out to help us celebrate!

2018 Ticket Consignment Program -- This amusement park program is made available to Union Parks & Recreation Department (UPRD) through the Missouri Parks and Recreation Association (MPRA). Discounted tickets must be purchased at the UPRD Office during normal hours of operation. For ticket availability, please call the Park Office at 636.583.8471.

Silver Dollar City:
Adult One-Day (ages 12+) - $60.00
Child One-Day (ages 4-11) - $50.00
Adult Two-Day (ages 12+) - $65.00*
Child Two-Day (ages 4-11) - $55.00*

*Two-Day tickets are not sold at Silver Dollar City gates.

Vintage Base Ball: September 22, 2018 -- Time: 10am to 2pm, Place: Veterans Memorial Park (VMP)
Come out to Veterans Memorial Park (VMP), located at 600 Progress Parkway, Field 5 to witness base ball as it was in the 1860's. Two St. Louis vintage base ball teams will faceoff at this FREE community event. Concessions will be available for purchase. Be sure to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the show!

Schedule of events:

Ice Cream Social (while supplies last) at 10:00am
National Anthem at 10:55am
Proclamation Brass (quintet) playing music throughout the games
Game 1: St. Louis Brown Stockings vs St. Louis Unions at 11:00am
Break - kids can hit and run the bases at 12:15pm
Game 2: St. Louis Brown Stockings vs St. Louis Unions at 12:30pm

***If families wish to make it a baseball themed weekend, then be sure to join the Lawn Chair Movie Night the evening before (Friday, 9/21) to see the movie Everyone's Hero at 7:15pm in City Park, located at 500 W. Park Ave. This is also a free community event!***

Boo Bash!: October 26, 2018
-- Held at the Large Pavilion in the City Park, located at 575 North Christina Avenue. Join Union Parks & Recreation Department (UPRD) and Union Area Chamber of Commerce for the Annual Boo Bash! This is a free family community event. Children of all ages must be supervised by parent/guardian at all times.

The Chamber will host the Children's Costume Contest under the Large Pavilion, for kiddos ages 10 and under. Prizes are awarded to the following age categories: newborn-1, 2-4, 5-7, 8-10, and Group/Family. The more creative the better! Pre-registration is not required, just be under the pavilion no later then 6pm, because the contest will start promptly at 6:15pm. For more information on the Children's Costume Contest, please call the Chamber at 636-583-8979.

Stick around for UPRD's Trunk-or-Treat! Activities include trick-or-treating, hay rides and refreshments. For more information on these activities, please call UPRD at 636-583-8471.

Children's Christmas Party: December 7, 2018
-- Held in the Union City Auditorium, for kids 10 & under. Doors open immediate following the parade, at approximately 6:30pm. Bring your family to this fun & free event! There will be refreshments, face painting, a balloon sculptor, picture's with Santa Claus (bring your own camera) and every child (10 & under) will receive a gift. Please bring food to help stock the food pantry for the holiday's.

Valentines Dinner & Comedy Show: February 2019 -- Join us for the 17th annual event that is sure to have a lot of laughs! Comedians TBA. This adult-only event will be held at Union City Auditorium with doors opening at 6pm. Tickets include dinner, comedy show, rose (for the ladies) and dance. Cash bar will be available, no outside beverages allowed. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.

Rummage Sale: Late Winter/Spring 2019 -- at Union City Auditorium. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny: April 2019 -- at City Park from 9am-11am. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.

Founder's Day Festival: June 1, 2019 -- First Saturday in June from 7:30am-midnight. A celebration in the City Park, located at 500 W. Park Ave., featuring a fun 5k/10k run/walk, craft booths, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, children's activities/games, food/beverages and music. Music entertainment will last until midnight. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.

Doggie Day at the Pool: August 2019 -- Time: 6:00 to 8:00pm, Place: Splash-n-Swimplex, Fee: $4/pup
Dog days of summer getting you down? Bring man’s best friend and come cool off in our beautiful pool. Owners are responsible for cleaning up any accidents (both liquid and solid). Dogs must be accompanied by an adult and keep collar or harness on at all times. Guests may use punch card for this event. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.

Concert in the Park -- Free concerts series, performed on the first Friday evening of the month at the large pavilion at City Park. Come enjoy a variety of music. The selected band for the evening will play from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Coolers and food are welcome. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 series.
