CATCH & RELEASE ONLY - Winter Trout Fishing Program: November 1, 2018 - January 31, 2019 -- Union’s City Lake, 502 Clark Avenue
Union City Lake angler regulations for specie with daily limit and length limit are as follows:
1) Largemouth Bass, daily limit: 2, length limit: 18” minimum
2) Catfish, daily limit: 4, length limit: none
3) Trout from November 1 – January 31 is CATCH & RELEASE ONLY; NO TROUT may be possessed!
4) Trout from February 1 – October 31, daily limit: 4, length limit: none
5) All other fish, daily limit: statewide, up to 10 in the aggregate, length limit: none
*November 1 through January 31 - only 1 pole/person; artificial flies and lures ONLY; no natural or prepared baits.
*February 1 through October 31 - maximum of 3 poles/person may be used; no restrictions on bait; must stop fishing for all species after having 4 trout in possession.
*Pole and line fishing only
*No live bait may be taken.
*Frogs may be taken during the statewide season by hand, handnet, gig, or hook and line.
*All anglers age 16 through 64 must have a permit.
*Anglers must have a trout permit to possess trout.

Valentines Dinner & Comedy Show: February 9, 2019 -- Join us for the 17th annual event that is sure to have a lot of laughs! Comedians include Kevin Patterson, Jerry Donovan and Headliner Dr. Gonzo. This adult-only event will be held at Union City Auditorium (500 E. Locust St.) with doors opening at 6pm. Tickets include dinner, comedy show, rose (for the ladies) and dance. Cash bar will be available, no outside beverages allowed. Guests must be 21 or older to attend. Tickets are now on sale for $40.00 per person.
For tickets, stop in the Park Office in the lower level of City Hall, located at 500 E. Locust Street.
Rummage Sale: March 2, 2019 -- at Union's City Auditorium (500 E. Locust St.) from 9am-1pm. The fee for a table is $20 per table. Sellers get an eight foot by two and a half foot table to display as many items that can fit on or under the table. Set-up will begin at 6:30am the morning of the event. Sellers are required to stay set-up and onsite for the entire event, until 1pm. UPRD will place ads in the local papers, display signs, plus post on numerous social media sites prior to the event. Food, drinks, bake goods, commercial products, weapons, etc. are not permitted at the sale. UPRD reserves the right to refuse any item for sale that is inappropriate. Sellers are responsible for making change and collecting money for the sale of their own items. Space is limited, so reserve a spot soon! Bargain hunters will not want to miss this sale! Admission will only be one dollar for all ages!

Kite Fest: April 6, 2019 -- at Veterans Memorial Park (600 Progress Parkway) from 1pm-4pm; Rain date will be on Sunday, April 7 from 1pm-4pm. UPRD is partnering with the Gateway Kite Club to host Franklin County’s first Kite Fest. Festivities will kick-off National Kite Month with a celebration of the county’s 200th birthday and the county’s namesake, Ben Franklin. Come fly a kite with us at the park! There will be kite building kits available for children (while supplies last), as well as flying demonstrations by the Gateway Kite Club. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny: April 19, 2019 -- at City Park from 9am-11am. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.
Concert in the Park -- at City Park (500 West Park Aveunue) from 6:30-9:30pm. Free concerts series performed on the first Friday evening of the month at the Large Pavilion in City Park. Come enjoy a variety of music. Coolers and food are welcome.
Series line-up includes:
May 3 - Crossfire will perform current pop, classic rock and Motown
June 7 - Fanfare Entertainment will perform a variety of music from new country to pop, Motown and Jazz
July 5 - Steve Leslie Band will play a variety of music
August 2 - Paul Cockrum Trio will perform classic rock
September 6 - 8 Track will perform oldies and classic rock
Lawn Chair Movie Night -- Free movie series held on the third Friday evening of the month in the large grassy area next to the Large Pavilion at City Park, located at 500 West Park Avenue. The movie series is free and family friendly. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food and coolers! More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 series.

September's movie will be held at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, September 21 in conjunction with Vintage Base Ball.

Founder's Day Festival - 40 Years of Fun: June 1, 2019 -- First Saturday in June from 7:30am-midnight. A celebration in the City Park, located at 500 W. Park Ave., featuring a fun 5k/10k run/walk, craft booths, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, children's activities/games, food/beverages and music. Music entertainment will last until midnight. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.

Doggie Day at the Pool: August 2019 -- Time: 6:00 to 8:00pm, Place: Splash-n-Swimplex, Fee: $4/pup
Dog days of summer getting you down? Bring man’s best friend and come cool off in our beautiful pool. Owners are responsible for cleaning up any accidents (both liquid and solid). Dogs must be accompanied by an adult and keep collar or harness on at all times. Guests may use punch card for this event. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.
Vintage Base Ball -- Come out to witness base ball as it was in the 1860's. Two St. Louis vintage base ball teams will faceoff at this FREE community event. Concessions will be available for purchase. Be sure to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the show! More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.
Boo Bash!: October 2019 -- Held at the Large Pavilion in the City Park, located at 575 North Christina Avenue. Join Union Parks & Recreation Department (UPRD) and Union Area Chamber of Commerce for the Annual Boo Bash! This is a free family community event. Children of all ages must be supervised by parent/guardian at all times.
The Chamber will host the Children's Costume Contest under the Large Pavilion, for kiddos ages 10 and under. Prizes are awarded to the following age categories: newborn-1, 2-4, 5-7, 8-10, and Group/Family. The more creative the better! Pre-registration is not required, just be under the pavilion no later then 6pm, because the contest will start promptly at 6:15pm. Stick around for UPRD's Trunk-or-Treat! Activities include trick-or-treating, hay rides and refreshments.
Is your business interested in sponsoring the Children's Costume Contest or pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters at Boo Bash? More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.
Children's Christmas Party: December 2019 -- Held in the Union City Auditorium (500 E. Locust St.), for kids 10 & under. Doors open immediate following the parade, at approximately 6:30pm. Bring your family to this fun & free event! There will be refreshments, face painting, a balloon sculptor, picture's with Santa Claus (bring your own camera) and every child (10 & under) will receive a gift. Please bring a can food donation to help stock the food pantry for the holiday's. More information to follow at a later date for the 2019 event.

Ticket Consignment Program -- This amusement park program is made available to Union Parks & Recreation Department (UPRD) through the Missouri Parks and Recreation Association (MPRA). Discounted tickets must be purchased at the UPRD Office during normal hours of operation. For ticket availability, please call the Park Office at 636.583.8471.
