Youth Instructional Programs
Staying Home Alone: This parent-child class, led by a St. Louis Children’s Hospital facilitator, will help parents and children determine the child's physical, mental, social and emotional readiness to stay home by themselves and help prepare them for this experience.
Thursday, March 29 from 6:30-8:00pm in Room #3 in the lower level of City Hall, located at 500 E. Locust Street. Please enter the door (next to table shelter with maroon roof) off the east-side parking lot. Cost is $25 per family, that must include a minimum of one parent and one child. There is no maximum number of family members.

This class, recommended for children 10 years of age and older, is a great introduction to the basics of babysitting and is taught by an instructor from St. Louis Children’s Hospital. A light snack, backpack and a 28-page workbook are provided. Topics will include: 1) Business of babysitting, 2) Child development, 3) Safety and first aid, and 4) Fun and games

Instruction provided by Mark Lohan, who has 30 years experience within four states and is certified by Unites States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). Instruction will cover the basic stroke fundamentals, rules/etiquette of the game, sportsmanship and game play. Participants are required to supply their own racquet and wear tennis shoes/weather appropriate clothing. Maximum class size is 10.
Class will be held outdoors on Wednesday evenings at City Park Tennis Courts, located at 400 North Christina Avenue. Class times: Youth (8-12 years) from 4-5pm, Beginners (13-99 years) from 5-6pm and Advanced (13-99 years) from 6-7pm.
Session I: April 25 – May 16; make-up date 5/23
Session II: May 30 – June 20; make-up date 6/27
Session III: July 11 – August 1; make-up date 8/8
Cost: $35 per participant for each four (4) week session.

Union Soccer Association (USA) Registration: Open from April 15, 2018 through June 30, 2018. For participants between 6-18 years of age, fee is $65.00 for one player, $105.00 for two players, $140.00 for 3 or more players. For participants between 4-5 years of age, Peewee fee is $30.00 per player and must be 4 years of age by August 1, 2018. Register online at www.unionmosoccer.com or at the park office Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
