Union Marketplace offers interested business investors the opportunity to “reach untapped markets from a prime highway location in the growing heart of Franklin County.

In 1994, the City of Union purchased 93 acres of prime farmland along Highway 50 on the eastern side of the community to develop as a major retail site close to Interstate 44. Initial site preparation and infrastructure improvements were completed in 2000 and MO-DOT has approved plans for a new, signalized intersection at the entrance to Union Marketplace.

The total developable area in the park is now approximately 47 acres. Within the park a 36 acre tract has been specifically platted for a large-scale retail development.

In 2005, ERC Development Group of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, purchased 9 acres to construct a 168 unit apartment complex, ChapelRidge, within Union Marketplace. ChapelRidge will include a pool, children’s playground, and clubhouse for residents. Residents of ChapelRidge will be within walking distance to any future retail within Union Marketplace. Numerous other residential developments are also within walking distance to Union Marketplace.

In addition to ChapelRidge, a medical center, Patients First, and a geotechnical engineering firm, SCI Engineering, are occupants of Union Marketplace. Several other parcels have been sold as well.
